Agents, Airlines and other travel related Companies.

Your contract is with the individual Travel Agent, Tour Operator, Airline or
other travel related Company who owns
the website and is providing the holiday/ flight to you.
It is your responsibility to check that individual Tour Operator displays a
relevant ATOL number and ATOL logo which links to the ATOL member database.
A travel agent who acts as an agent for an ATOL licenced Tour Operators does
not need to be an ATOL member, but is likely to be an ABTA or IATA.
Air Travel
Companies displaying the ATOL Logo are licensed by the government appointed body, the
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to provide air travel packages. The Air Travel
Organisers License (ATOL) is issued only after considerable financial
analysis by the CAA to ensure a high level of financial security and the
provision of a bond. The air holidays and flights shown are ATOL protected by
the Civil Aviation Authority. An ATOL number is 4 digit ie 2985. ATOL Protection
extends primarily to customers who book and pay in the United Kingdom. Click

Companies
selling flights should also be a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) which
authorises companies to issue airline tickets on behalf of the airlines. No
company can issue scheduled airline tickets without this licence.
Surface Travel

To conform to the stringent EU Directive many Tour Operators have established a Trust Fund for
all non air travel bookings. Although the ATOL bond is not applicable for
surface travel your money is stored in this account until you return safely
from your holiday.
